...As the painter explores areas and pathways unknown to him, he sometimes exceeds his region, his 'art's region'. Thus, for years now, I have found this region within the places that we were given birth, the places where we live in. I am drawing the old, not as a passerby artist, but in a way where the artwork is always a piece of myself... the cut up daub, the colours that fade through time, the warmth of a hand that you can sense on the handle of an old door. As there are no ways of escaping, this is what I always try to achieve. Many people say that I am drawing the old that will soon seize to exist...the concrete will soon seize to exist due to its facsimile and cold cast.
